October 22, 2010 - Ramona, CA -
"We Are His Masterpiece" Mary James Provides Music and Keynote Message for Ramona Pregnancy Care Clinic's Annual Fundraiser Banquet

After an amazing, action packed ICM week, Mary James hit the ground running the following Sunday by ministering through music and testimony at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Illinois.   Once back in San Diego, she was invited to be both the Musical Guest and Keynote Speaker for the Ramona Pregnancy Care Clinic's (RPCC) Annual Fundraiser Banquet titled, "We Are His Masterpiece."  In attendance was California State Senator Joel Anderson, along with a representative from Congressman Duncan Hunter’s office.

Mary, being an adopted child, emphasized that despite a seemingly bad start and some serious bumps in the road along the way, God is in the business of restoration, redemption and purpose!    With songs woven through her story, she ended by challenging anyone to say that her life, or the life of an unwanted child, is not worth saving.   Dan Barker and Gary Livesay accompanied her that evening.  The three of them walked away entirely blessed by the hearts of the people and the privilege God gave them to serve and support the RPCC.

Mary says that, "I find no greater honor than to speak on behalf of those who have no voice. These little ones, so fresh from God, need our support! It starts by letting their Mom's know that we are there for them."

Mary James and lead guitarist Gary Livesay, were recently a part of the Shadow Mountain Community Church 4th of July Freedom Celebration.   Together, along with the Shadow Mountain Band, they performed Brooks and Dunn's "Only in America".   Mary says, "It was an honor to be a part of a celebration that reminded all of us to keep our hearts turned toward God.  The church also did an amazing job of honoring our Veterans and active military.   In one of the services, 19 Pearl Harbor Vets were in attendance.  Amazing!!!!  Thank you Shadow Mountain for your excellence and powerful presentation honoring this great land!"

In the afternoon, Mary and The Mary James Band, gave a two hour concert for Southern California Seminary's God and Country Celebration.   The band shared patriotic, original and Americana selections for the 200 plus guests who came to BBQ, fellowship and watch the 9:00 p.m. fireworks show.    A decorated US Army Serviceman spoke between sets encouraging the crowd to pray for those in the military who do not have a relationship with Christ and who deal with ongoing depression.  The crowd was reminded of the huge sacrifice these men and women make to defend our country.
